The Night I Was Born

This piece originally had a face on the left side, watching over the little world but I overworked the androgynous features until I felt certain I had to eliminate the face altogether. For the first time in my career, I cut my drawing. I took the pieces that were still usable and sewed them onto another piece of vellum and then shaded in between. In one moment I was distraught over 'ruining' a drawing and in the next I fell in love with it. So much so that I took another drawing and cut it apart, hoping to create a series of sorts. I welcome any critique and comments.
There are also three elements that I rarely use, if ever. Color, stippling and stitching! I'm very pleased and this one has energized me, giving me motivation to create more like it.
